Sustainability

Page history last edited by PBworks 15 years, 7 months ago

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_politics - very interesting that healing our planet has become a political issue, well "polis" = "people" so i guess politics = us and us = the change we need to see

I would write on the page above:

Sustainability. How long can we live here without depleting everything this world has to offer? How can we find a balance between consumption and production? It’s an interesting idea, and truly one that has been defined greatly in the last couple of years. But the biggest issue I have with humanity’s views on sustainability is that there seems to be a time frame of interest involved. It’s as if we as a whole seem to have ADD and we only put forth effort until our interest is lost. How the hell can saving our planet be trendy? How can we possibly decide that the new “fad” is saving our home that provides everything for us? That, to me, is completely absurd. The “Go Green” shirts sold at major department stores are going to be on the clearance rack before the year is out, probably replaced by clothes made completely out of non renewable resources.
