The main concept of the chapter was in the section about how to share experiences in writing. According to the author "your life is one long narrative, within it are thousands of shorter narratives." The way you are suppose to share experiences in your life is through the professional, civic, and personal form. When we write we must keep in mind who is the audience. If you are writing in a journal, you must understand that you can write whatever you want without forcing yourself to write with tone, diction, syntax, and purpose. On the other hand, if you are writing to an audience, you must keep conscious of what was mentioned above. 

Earth Democracy

Earth Demography written by Vandana Shiva, deals with the ideas of globalization, politics and economics. Shiva discusses that individuals must put the environment before themselves. In the introduction, Shivas argues that water, food, and seeds are universal human rights and that property rights in turn are not universal.  We as humans must take work together with the planet to stop poverty, terriorism, racism, and etc. This go me thinking, and i would have to agree with Shiva's argument. However, our society has individuals that care about the environment and try to take the necessary steps in order to preserve the planet. We also have the individual who can careless and would rather put themselves first then the environment. The government is trying to promote safeguarding the environment put I highly doubt that we can save the environment by using only a small group of people.  They are just outnumbered by the almost 7 billion people in the world.

Understanding Comics

When I first went to the bookstore and picked up Understanding Comics by McCloud, my first inclination was that, "I am in college, I can careless about comics, I not 8years old." When I think about comics, I just think about reading them in the newspaper and just seeing it as a waste of time. After reading the first chapter, it opened my eyes that comics are everywhere around me. The plus side of comics in my opinion is that eventhough it can be fun, it can also be educational. It triggers the individual to use there imagination which can make him or her an excellent critical thinker.
