So I'm here in Panera Bread typing this because my cable got shut off (being poor sucks!) I've been thinking and thinking and cant decide which to write about; alcohol's drinking age, or my opinion on the legalization of marijuana, so I just said screw it, i'll just write about both, maybe I can impress Dr. Trey Connor a little bit.

PART ONE: ALCOHOL

First off i'd like to say we can join the military, move from your parents, and buy cigarattes but when you turn 18 as an adult you can't drink alcohol? You are an adult! They say that when the drinking age was changed back to 21 the death rate decreased by a large amount. I can understand this point but it's the fact that when you become an adult you should be able to have ALL the privelages of an adult. People say that we aren't mature enough, but everyone is different. There are people that aren't mature at 21. It is also said that since teens are already drinking at the age of 16 and 17 that if the drinking age was lowered they would start drinking even younger. To me that is just absurd. Drinking is exposed in high school and that is mostly when teens start drinking. No matter how many times your parents will ground you or take stuff away from you a teenager is always going to find a way to make everything more fun and exciting. If adults didn't have all of the other privelages they do at 18 I wouldn't say that the drinking age should be 18, but it isn't like that, and I think everything has to be fair.

PART TWO: MARY JANE

If the government sold it and taxed it, they would make so much money. The only main argument out there about why marijuana shouldn't be legalized is because it "leads people into other drugs." How often do you hear about people being high and getting in a wreck? It's always about people being drunk. Being high is totally different than being drunk. People aren't mean, they're nice. In my opinion alcohol is much worse than marijuana. Way worse things happen when people are drinking rather than smoking marijuana. Anyone can see this but I don't think it will ever be legalized!!
